Veggie Chow Mein


  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped finely
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cabbage, shredded
  • Broccoli, cut into florets
  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds
  • 300g chow mein noodles (or noodles of your choice)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp dry wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp chilli sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil



Heat olive oil in a wok or pan on high heat. Add the garlic and onion and cook for a minute. Then add the carrot and broccoli. Mix in the cabbage and fry for a couple of minutes.

Cook noodles according to instructions on the packet.

Pour in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, wine, sugar, sesame oil and chilli sauce to the veggies.

Add the noodles and stir well. Serve with sesame seeds and spring onion.
