FAQ

Deliveries

Where do you deliver in Melbourne?

What days do you deliver?

We deliver Wednesday - Saturday, and your delivery day will depend on which part of Melbourne you're in. Enter your postcode at the checkout to find out what delivery days are available to you.

You'll receive an SMS the day before delivery with your estimated delivery time.

What time will I receive my delivery?

The day before your delivery you'll receive an SMS with your estimated delivery time, and you'll be able to track your delivery in real time on the day of your delivery.

Do I need to be home to receive my delivery?

You don't need to be home, unless your order includes alcohol (our liquor licence doesn't allow us to leave alcohol unattended).

If you're not home, we'll leave your delivery at your door. Or you can let us know a safe place to leave it - just make a note of this at the checkout when you place your order.

How can I urgently contact you about a delivery?

The best way to contact us is via email, as we're constantly monitoring the inbox.

You can also call us on (03) 7012 6153

Organic Fruit and Vegetable Boxes

What fruits/veggies will I get in the box?

Each week we select a mix of fruit and veggies that are in season, so the exact mix of produce will change slightly each week.

Click here to see what we've been putting in the boxes recently.

Are all the fruit and vegetables certified organic?

Yes, all the fruit and vegetables in your box are certified organic.

As we source our produce from many different organic farms around Victoria and beyond, the organic produce in your box is certified by a range of different certifying bodies such as Australian Certified Organic (ACO) or the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA).

Can I choose what I want in the box?

You can't choose what goes in the box, but we can certainly leave out any fruit or veggies that you don't eat. After you've selected your organic box just head to the checkout, and you'll be able to note anything you don't want.

What if I'm not happy with something in the box?

We pick up all our produce the day before we deliver to your door, so everything should be super fresh.

If something doesn't look quite right, please do let us know! You can take a picture and email it to info@localorganicdelivery.com.au

Organic Farming

What's the difference between organic food and conventionally grown food?

Organic farming is essentially the way we used to farm before the 1950s when industrialised countries started using artificial fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides in farming as a way to produce higher yields.

Whereas conventional farming will use all sorts of chemicals that are toxic to the soil and waterways, organic farming takes a different approach and works with nature to protect our environment and our health.

You can read more about the topic here.

Can we visit the farm?

Absolutely. We run farm days exclusively for our subscribers, where you can learn all about organic farming on a working farm (where many of the fruit and veggies you get in your box are grown).
